Our residents are encouraged to lead as varied a life as they wish to here at Banbury Heights Nursing Home, with all sorts to get involved in, and expert care always on hand. Located within Banbury town centre, our residents can stay well-connected to friends and family members in the local community and retain their independence as much as possible.
In this family-run home, the owners are involved in the day-to-day running of the home and truly care about the quality of life provided, regularly engaging with residents and relatives to ensure that the care we are giving meets the changing needs of those we care for.
We’re constantly looking at ways to improve our residents’ day-to-day lives, which is why we’re always looking at new activities, entertainment and outings to keep our residents’ minds stimulated and entertained.
We have an activities team in our home, here to make sure that life at Banbury Heights is enjoyable and varied; our team involves all our residents in planning the activities and opportunities available to them. Group activities are tailored to what our residents enjoy, including gardening, cake-making, arts and crafts and reminiscence sessions. We also offer one-to-one sessions, meaning that residents who are unable to participate in group gatherings can still get involved and enjoy the many benefits our wide range of activities have to offer.
We run a charity called Friends that arranges many themed activities for residents to enjoy, such as themed pantomimes, visits from highly-skilled musicians, and a wonderful firework display in November, which is a firm favourite amongst our residents.
With the centre of Banbury so close to our home, and with so many of our residents having lived in the area for decades, we arrange regular outings to the local churches and shops, which go down a storm. Residents particularly enjoy visiting the annual Banbury Fair in the centre of the town, along with celebrations by the canal.
We like to go a little further afield sometimes too, and Banbury Heights boasts an impressive trips programme. During the summer months, we visit some beautiful places, including Blenheim Palace, Upton House, Broughton Castle and the Cotswold Wildlife Park to name but a few. These trips allow our residents to enjoy the wonderful sights surrounding Banbury, that the majority have grown up with.
